Update: 15 Year Old Shooting Victim Ashley Jewell Making Progress...

Ashley Jewell, daughter the late A.J. Jewell who was the onetime fiance of "Housewives" cast member Kandi Burruss was shot in the head on Saturday March 4th night in an apparent road rage incident in south Fulton County. Multiple shots were fired at the car Jewell was riding in. None of the other passengers or the driver was struck.

"She is still technically listed as critical, but she does seem to recognize her mom's voice, and she makes attempts to follow simple commands they give her, like to squeeze their hands," her cousin, Ebony Phillips, told the AJC. "She can't really do it physically but there's a cognitive foundation they might be able to build on."

Jewell still has a lot of swelling in her brain and is sedated most of the time, Phillips said. But she added: "We're very, very thankful" for the progress.

About 100 people attended a candlelight vigil and call to action Saturday night to lend support to the family of the injured teen.

Supporters met outside of O’Reilly’s Auto Parts in College Park and vowed to distribute fliers saying “Justice for Asheley Jewell” and “Who shot Asheley?”

It was a great turnout and everybody was very supportive,” said Ebony Phillips, a cousin of Jewell who helped organize the vigil. “We really want Ashley’s face to be known all over metro Atlanta.”

Anyone with information about the shooting is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477.

Family and friends of the teen are pleading that someone comes forward with information on the incident and have also set up a Facebook page which you can visit HERE to offer support or tips.

Please keep the family in your prayers.
